Forge Tavern Community Character Art Gallery

Welcome brave adventurer! Here you can find artistic renderings of some of the most famous (or infamous) characters from the RPG MultiverseTM created by The Forge Tavern's very own community artists.

We'll add new drawings regularly, so come back frequently to cast your bloodshot peepers on a gallery of heroes, scoundrels, rogues of all kinds, misfits, misguided paladins (aren't they all?), space jockeys, rat catchers, tax collectors, miscreants, superheroes, and every other kind of character you can think of (and some maybe you didn't).

This gallery will grow with your submissions. If you'd like to see your character art featured here, please submit your original creations (or, you know, a copy of them) using the special form created just for you.

Submit my art!

So venture forth (i.e., scroll down) and explore our rogue's gallery of bold adventurers!

"Sci Fi Characters" by Mr. Underhill

Another selection from Mr. Underhill; here is a collection of 3 character sketches. On the left, from Gamma World, a giant mutant wearing a parachute. To the right, a couple of concepts for space pirates.

"Anton Marrix" by Bruce

Anton is a sci fi explorer played by one of my closest friends in a game spanning several decades and rules systems. He's a bit of a smart aleck (both the character and my friend) whose love for the stars and inquisitive nature have sent him to places distant, bizarre, and sometimes unexplored, where his wise mouth and impulsive tendencies get him into all sorts of trouble. Below his seemingly shallow and flippant exterior, however, is a true hero with a weighty conscience who is unerringly loyal to his friends and allies.

Anton began as a pencil sketch (whose head I just couldn't get right) that was scanned into Photoshop along with a separate inked head drawing I made (1, 1a). I matched the head to the body, darkened the lines and started cleaning up the image (2). Once all the lines were refined or redrawn, the final line art was ready for color (3).

"Smithy Goes to War" by Mr. Underhill

Smithy, the CEO (Chief Executive Orc) of The Forge Tavern and Orc's Forge Games, on occasion has to gird himself for battle (like when zombies or flesh eating poodles attack). Mr. Underhill, who has produced official "Smithy" art for us in the past, shares with us here a version of Smithy who is ready for action.

"Lily" by Bruce

Lily is a Ranger created by Diane (whom you may know as your wonderful host and bartender at The Forge Tavern) for a long running D&D campaign. The DM had a saying that went something like, "In my game, death is imminent, but rarely permanent" He was fond of teaching humility by letting each character succumb to the harsh sting of death at least once, while providing opportunities for reviving or resurrecting. No matter how hard he tried, however, in the 5+ years the game ran, he was never able to deal a completely mortal blow to Lily, and she retired having never surrendered her character's mortal coil. The piece above is a pencil drawing of Lily, highlighting her preference for two-weapon fighting and confident demeanor.
